Jeffrey Ashton has been involved with the guitar scene of Portland, OR for many years and has worked with many students and performers since his arrival. Through travels across the world, investigations into world music through the eras, and deep musicianship Jeffrey has honed his craft of performing, teaching, and composing guitar music.

Jeffrey has accrued a plethora of knowledge through his studies across the world. His own experiences as a musician create idiomatic guitar music of many different genres. In addition to Jeffrey’s original compositions, he has spent years transcribing music of days (and instruments) gone for guitar.

Recordings
An interest in a variety of eras and styles has led to an eclectic taste of music ranging from renaissance tunes for lute to modern classical guitar. Jeffrey’s sensible ear and refined musicianship informs thoughtful interpretations of music from all forms.
Lessons
As someone who has experienced the power of music himself, Jeffrey has continued to pass on the gift of music by teaching. In addition to their work in academia, Jeffrey teaches private lessons for guitar online or in person.

Events
Jeffrey performs throughout the Greater Portland era as a soloist and as a part of many different ensembles. In additions to consistent performances, Jeffrey also takes performance commissions for private spaces as well as businesses.
